Tuscan Crispy Tofu

This Tuscan Crispy Tofu recipe makes a delicious snack, pair it with a salad or other tasty side, and you have a meal. We prefer dipping these delicious crispy tofu cubes in marinara sauce, but they would probably taste spectacular dipped in a non-dairy blue cheese dressing. The directions in this recipe call for baking it in the oven, but you can also use an air fryer if you prefer. Even though this recipe is vegan-friendly, your not-so-vegan friends would probably enjoy it too!

2 ½ Tbsp. Journey Spice Co. Organic Tuscan Seasoning

14 oz extra firm tofu

1 cup finely ground bread crumbs

½ cup flour

¾ cup water

1 Tbsp minced garlic

Extra virgin olive oil spray


  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Evenly cut the tofu into cubes.
  3. Place the cut tofu onto a few paper towels, a clean kitchen towel, or a cheese cloth. Also, place your preferred material on top of the tofu to soak up excess water for about 15 minutes.
  4. While waiting for the tofu to become drier, mix the other ingredients in two bowls as follows.
  5. In the first bowl, mix the flour, water, minced garlic, and ½ Tbsp of Journey Spice Co. Organic Tuscan Seasoning.
  6. In the second bowl, mix 2 Tbsp Journey Spice Co. Organic Tuscan Seasoning and bread crumbs.
  7. Spray a cookie sheet or other oven-safe pan with extra virgin olive oil spray.
  8. After you have let the tofu dry, place the cubes in the flour mixture and evenly coat the tofu cubes with the mixture.
  9. Place about 5-6 coated tofu cubes in the breadcrumb mixture and evenly coat each piece. Place the coated cubes on the pan and repeat until all tofu pieces have been coated in the breadcrumb mixture.
  10. Evenly spray extra virgin olive oil over the coated tofu. You should only spend about 2-3 seconds spraying to ensure you do not spray too much. This step will help the tofu to get crispy.
  11. Bake the tofu in your oven for 40 minutes. Turn the pieces over to evenly cook about halfway through with a spatula.
  12. Serve with marinara sauce or other sauce of your choice, and enjoy!
