Plant-Based / Vegan Tzatziki Sauce Recipe

This plant-based, vegan-friendly tzatziki sauce is just as delicious and versatile as our original tzatziki sauce recipe, but it is completely dairy-free.

Cook Time: 1 ½ minutes

Ingredients:

1 ½ Tbsp. Journey Spice Co. Organic Mediterranean Herb Blend

1 ½ cup cashews (salted or unsalted)

1 cup almond milk

½ of a cucumber, finely grated

Juice from 1 lemon

1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions:

  1. “Bloom” the Journey Spice Co. Organic Mediterranean Herb Blend and minced garlic in a small sauce pan over medium heat with the extra virgin olive oil for one minute.
  2. Either finely dice the cucumber or grate the cucumber on the largest holes of a food grater.
  3. Lightly press out as much cucumber juice as possible using paper towels (you can also use a mesh strainer if you have one) and set aside.
  4. Add all ingredients except for the cucumber in a blender or food processor and blend until well-blended (about two minutes).
  5. Pour the mixture into a bowl, add the grated cucumber and stir well.
  6. Enjoy within five days.
