Midwest Marinade Recipe
This Midwest Marinade Recipe is not just for steak! You can also use it on baked chicken wings and tofu, as we did in the above picture, or any other meat your heart desires.
Prep Time: 5-10 Minutes (not including marinating time)
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp. Journey Spice Co. Organic Heartland Rub
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup coconut aminos (lower sodium option) or soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce (there are versions without anchovies if you are on a plant-based/vegan diet)
4 garlic cloves, minced
Juice from half a lemon
Directions:
- Add all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until blended.
- Pour the marinade into a large zip-lock bag (there are reusable zip-lock bags now;).
- Pour your meat of choice into the zip lock bag and gently shake it, covering every piece of meat.
- Let the meat marinate in the bag for at least three hours before cooking it.
Nutrition Per Serving:
This recipe makes enough marinade for about two pounds of meat. The nutritional information will vary widely depending on the ingredients used.
